City of Anaheim GSA #10- FY 18/19 Utility Wood Pole Wind Loading Calculations

Project Overview: Provided wind loading calculations for various City of Anaheim electrical transmission and distribution wood poles. Scope of work included performing pole loading calculations under existing as well as planned installations such as new apparatus for Anaheim Public Utilities Department’s distribution automation and/or electrical re‐conductoring projects. Confirmed poles met the requirements including field inventory of electrical and telecom apparatus and support structures on utility poles. Performed wind loading calculations and other documentation and analysis.

● Provided wind loading calculations for (2,500) poles

● Conducted field inspections of each pole, performed inventory and verified supporting                       structures on the pole

● Provided (2) high‐resolution pictures of each pole, showing height and angles of the

    poles

● Provided pole wind loading calculations of electric transmission and distribution poles

   using O‐Calc Software

Bear Valley Electric Utilities- Moonridge Substation Project

Project Overview: Complete demolition and removal of the existing substation structure and fence. Coordinated with the BVES field operations supervision to de-energize the Moonridge substation, bypass it from the BVES distribution system, and remove all electrical components prior to commencing onsite project work.

● Provided labor, tools, equipment for to convert substation from overhead design to                                       underground and pad mount design

● Replaced substation equipment and increase load capacity from 5MVA to 10MVA transformer

    banks

AC Induction Study for 33kV in Barranca Bridge

Project Overview: Conducted technical analysis, calculations and prepared a report for AC induced voltages in bridge steel reinforcements. SCE was proposing to install portions of the 33-kV Pantani circuit through open cells of a Caltrans bridge in Irvine. Analysis required of the induced voltages in bridge steel rebars and stress cables before granting permit for cable installation through the bridge.

● The provided technical expertise allowed Southern California Edison to obtain permits                            from Caltrans to construct through the bridge

●  Installed 33-kV Cables with requirement permissions

Wind Load Study Big Bear Blvd.

Project Overview: Performed power pole wind load calculations and provided attachment heights on (113) power poles located along Big Bear Boulevard. Wind loading details to comply with GO-95 heavy loading requirements of 6lbs/sq.ft. of wind pressure and .5in radial ice on all conductors. Our field engineers inspected and performed wind loading calculations on (101) 4kV distribution poles, (10) guy poles, and 2 secondary service poles.

● Provided wind loading calculations for (214) poles

● Conducted field inspections, performed inventory and verified all electrical and

   telecom apparatus

● Provided (2) high‐resolution pictures of each pole, showing full height of pole

● Provided pole wind loading calculations of electric transmission and distribution poles                          using O‐Calc Software, per GO-95 guidelines and requirements
